Texas Tech University is in compliance with
Comprehensive Standard 3.9.1.
The 2004-2005 Student Affairs Handbook,
available in pdf form at (http://www.studentaffairs.ttu.edu/publications/student_handbook0405.pdf),
contains a clear statement of student rights and
responsibilities on pages 8-9. The statement includes sections
on citizenship (including comments on academic freedom of
students), academic integrity, rules governing unruly or
disruptive behavior, and financial responsibility, and certain
other student rights and responsibilities.
The Code of Student Conduct, Part IX of
the Student Affairs Handbook, pp. 19-28 (http://www.studentaffairs.ttu.edu/publications/student_handbook0405.pdf),
also spells out various forms of student misconduct, along with
the procedures for determining culpability for violating the
code and penalties to be assessed.
Students have the right to appeal a grade
they believe to have been unfairly awarded. The Student Grade
Appeal policy is O.P. 34.03 (http://www.depts.ttu.edu/opmanual/OP34.03.htm).
