  Narrative:

Texas Tech University is in compliance with Federal Requirement 4.6.

Recruitment of students is the responsibility of the Office of Admissions and School Relations. The university maintains a recruitment web link on its home page (http://www.depts.ttu.edu/prostudents) at “Prospective Students”, and also has established outreach centers that handle alumni relations, student recruitment, and other university public affairs activities in Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin. There is also a a grant-funded outreach center for student recruitment at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, New Mexico. In addition, the university maintains agreements with more than 25 Texas junior colleges to provide advisement to their students on program requirements for various undergraduate majors at Texas Tech University (agreements for the Pathway Program are on file in the Office of Enrollment Management (163 Administration Building) and also in the SACS Reaffirmation of Accreditation office (209B Holden Hall).

The university catalog is the most comprehensive source of information on student admissions, academic programs, and university facilities (on line at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/officialpublications/catalog/Catalog.html). The 2004-2005 university catalog accurately presents the university’s current practices and policies with respect to student admission, academic programs, and institutional facilities.  Recruitment materials on line may be accessed at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/prostudents. These materials accurately present the institution’s practices and policies with respect to student admission, academic programs, and university facilities. In addition, the university distributes print materials on the university, its facilities, and on individual colleges, departments, and degree programs. All of these materials are available in the University Visitor Center (West Hall 105) as well as at the regional recruitment centers listed in the paragraph above, as well as by request from the university (by mail). The print materials accurately present the university’s practices and policies with respect to student admissions, academic programs, and university facilities.

Recruiters who represent the university and its colleges and departments make periodic visits to high schools, junior colleges, senior colleges, and other sites to present information on the university and its undergraduate and graduate programs. These recruiters go through training programs that familiarize them with the university’s policies, programs, and facilities, and they accurately portray these aspects of the university in their presentations.
