Texas Tech
University is in compliance with Comprehensive Standard #3.2.9.
The university has
well established policies regarding employment. The general
policy regarding employment in the university, which applies to
all employees, is published in the Texas Tech University
Operating Policies and Procedures Manual (O.P. 70.11), available
in pdf format at
http://www.depts.ttu.edu/opmanual/. Specific policies
regarding hiring of faculty are also published in the Operating
Policies and Procedures Manual under O.P. 32.16 (Faculty
Recruitment Procedures, O.P. 32.1 (Faculty Appointments and
Titles), O.P. 32.27 (Review of Vitae of Prospective Faculty),
and O.P. 32.28 (Faculty Applicants not Holding Doctoral Degrees
in Departments/Areas Requiring the Doctorate). In addition,
individual colleges and departments have policies that cover
recruitment and hiring of faculty such as composition of search
committees, decisions regarding academic specialties designated
for the search, and processes by which final selection is made
from a pool of candidates. These policies are available on
college and departmental web sites or in print form in college
offices. Policies relating to qualifications for academic ranks,
relating to notice of non-reappointment, and acquisition of
tenure are published in the university tenure policy. |
