Texas Tech
University is non-compliant with Comprehensive Standard 3.2.5.
According to
Texas
state law members of the Board of Regents of state universities are
appointed by the governor with approval by the state senate. Article 15,
Section 9 of the Texas Constitution contains provisions for the removal of
public officers (which includes appointed members of university boards of
regents) through impeachment. Therefore, the Board of Regents Rules contains
no provision for removing a regent from office.
Action Plan:
There is
no action the university is able to take to amend the state constitution. |
