Texas
Tech University is in compliance with Comprehensive Standard
3.4.13.
Degree programs and specializations or
tracks within degree programs in all Texas Tech University
colleges and schools are coordinated by qualified faculty. In
some cases, individual faculty serve in the role of program
coordinator. More commonly, decisions that relate to matters of
curriculum development and/or review are handled by a
departmental or program committee or by the faculty functioning
as a committee of the whole. For all degree programs (Aerospace
Studies and Military Science are not degree programs), the
individuals who develop curriculum are tenured or tenure-track
faculty who are qualified in their area of specialization and
possess a terminal degree. All graduate program advisors are
members of the graduate faculty at Texas Tech University.
(Graduate faculty are members of the faculty who have been
recognized “for scholarly activities, creativity, direction of
graduate research and study, and other contributions to the
graduate programs of the university and the Health Sciences
Center. Except in special cases approved by the graduate dean,
only graduate faculty may serve as instructors of graduate
courses, conduct graduate examinations, and serve on thesis and
dissertation committees.” [2004-2005 Texas Tech University
