Texas Tech University is in compliance with Comprehensive Standard 3.4.14.

At Texas Tech University students are introduced to technology in a variety of ways. All registration is web-based and on-line, so students must be sufficiently computer literate to access the university  homepage and access its student portal in order to enroll and register for classes. The university library uses an on-line catalog and access to virtually all of its holdings, whether in electronic , or other form, is through computers. For students who do not possess sufficient computer skills to use the on-line catalog, the library offers both one-on-one help from librarians and a one credit-hour library research course (LIBR 1100) that includes basic training on use of a computer catalog and search engines.  The Advanced Technology Learning Center in the basement of the main library houses several computer labs and offers self-paced computer-based training modules free for students, faculty, and staff. Satellite computer facilities are located in several of the residence halls and in many classroom buildings on campus (see http://www.ttu.edu/it4students/labs.php for a list of computer laboratory facilities.

The English Department has been a pathfinder in the use of electronic technology in college instruction. Their ICON program teaches introductory composition courses on line and requires all students enrolled for ENGL 1301 and 1302 to submit all essays on line and to engage in reciprocal criticism of writing assignments on line. This program is described at http://www.english.ttu.edu/announcements/default.asp?announcement_ID=82
